MORE ABOUT MYSELF
Born in Mozambique in 1972, moved to Portugal in 1974 where as a little girl demonstrated early talent with arts and crafts starting her favorite hobby: painting. Her first exhibition was at the age of 13, at Figueira da Foz Casino, where she sold her first paintings, getting excited and inspiring herself to embark into an artistic career, which would follow her through Portugal, England, and now China.
While still in Portugal, from high-school she chose to study Art and Design. Later in Coimbra she developed her skills further by picking Fine Arts in college and started into oil and acrylic painting. At this time painting was becoming a way of life, commissioning some custom work and painting for private individuals.
Later she moved to south of Portugal, Castro Verde, in the Alentejo region, and became aware of another type of passion: painting in ceramics. In 1996 she attended a professional ceramics course and became even more passionate into the world of crafts, becoming a renown artist not only on canvas, but also as a ceramic artisan. Soon her exhibitions were touring through not only Castro Verde, but Beja, the entire Alentejo and Algarve regions, and kept expanding through Lisbon, Spain, and England amongst other places.
She moved to England and the painting career continued there for several years. Now the artist lives in China, with ShenZhen being her stage for the last 3 years. The brand Majó was created, and she is painting full-time, between her own creations, custom portraits, pet portraits, and all kinds of commissioned work.
